JulieBenesh grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but always knew she’d end up living in Chicago. Her favorite thing to do is read. She works from home next to her two cats as a higher education leader, professor, and organizational consultant. She has been published in Tin House Magazine, Bestial Noise: A Tin House Fiction Reader, Crab Orchard Review, Florida Review, Gulf Stream, Journal of Compressed Creative Arts, Berkeley Fiction Review, Bridge, and other places. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and she has received an Illinois Arts Council $1000 Grant. Julie has taught creative writing at the Newberry Library and has an MFA in Fiction from Warren Wilson College. She's still a klutz, but enjoys yoga, weights, and walking.
